Leader information

All of our biking and hiking leaders have the following skill set and experience:

    ●    Leadership experience
    ●    Bike mechanics and experience in bike repairs
    ●    Multilingual
    ●    Knowledge of the local environment
    ●    Extensive mountain biking experience


What makes a good ride leader?

    ●    Experience: Biking leaders need to have significant Mountain biking experience. They need to be familiar with Mountain biking terminology and safety, as well general practices. Biking and Hiking leaders must also be in good physical shape.

    ●    Knowledge: Biking leaders need to have significant knowledge of bike mechanics and maintenance.  While Gaia Trips provides training for bike repair, it is anticipated that a leader would have prior hands on experience in this area.

    ●    Leadership: Gaia Trips ensures that the people that represent them are responsible, qualified and capable.  Biking and Hiking leaders must be capable of managing and organizing groups of people, problem solving in the field, as well as the ability to handle a variety of situations.
